Meet Rafa Breviglieri, the Brazil Hub Director at the Latin American Leadership Academy (LALA). I worked with him during my time as an intern at LALA. Before jumping into the non-profit world, he joined a prestigious consulting company for a few years until he discovered that he wanted to pursue a different path: using his skills to elevate organizations with a social justice lens. This landed him his job at LALA. Today, Rafa shares why and how he made the leap from consulting to working with NGOs. I'm excited for you all to take a listen. I hope you enjoy the episode as much as I did.
I read this book before starting my freshman year at Amherst! It was given to me as a graduation gift. The Moth is an organization that actually has people read these stories aloud (the ones that are featured in the books). The best ones win prizes and such. This book here compiles the best stories that fall underneath the theme "True Stories About Facing the Unknown." From a better who cut David Bowie's hair to a gut-wrenching experiences on forgiveness, each shorty story that you will read will leave you wanting to know more. In case you're looking for a spontaneous book, here you have it! I've also included more book recs in my link in bio 😚
She's on the 'cast! Welcome Aditi Nayak! Aditi Nayak finds herself enamored by all things science. But unlike others, she wants to make science accessible and allow you (yes, you!) to comprehend and love all those big science concepts that otherwise seem intimidating. But they’re now so easy! At Amherst College, she started the Amherst STEM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Math) Network (ASN). She’s one of the most down to earth people that I’ve ever met. Between launching brain organoids into space (we’ll learn what that is in this episode), researching at institutions beyond Amherst, running ASN, and being a fantastic friend, she has a lot of wisdom to share. Click my link in bio to listen to our conversation.
💛What's your act of kindness today? How amazing is it that NO act of kindness is ever wasted? That's 100/10 right there. Enjoy your day! The best of today is yet to come 😉🏖
🌻How are you all learning through your past? This is a beautiful quote said by William Saronyn! I wanted to share it with you all today--it comes from my all-time favorite book.... can you guess which one? Have an awesome day, fam! 😘
This quote was said by Stephen Gilbert. The full quote starts out by saying, "I shall only pass through this life once..." What good have you been waiting to do today? If you're searching 🔎 for community service opportunities that you can do both virtually and in-person, visit the link in bio and click on this post to take you straight there!
