Hey there, everyone!
How has your week been going? I’m sure whether it’s been incredible, average, or quite upsetting, this blog post is going to make you feel great, and you’ll learn something new.
Let’s dive into it!
Journaling. The Many Ways.
I love to write. You might be able to tell because I manage this blog. Or from my informational posts. Or perhaps you know me personally and already know that I enjoy writing.
While writing articles is not the thing for everyone, journaling is something everyone should give a try. It’s meditative. It’s a way for some people to release stress. It can also become a planner or a goal-setting journal.
The Benefits.
What about writing lists, feelings, thoughts, or even doodles makes it beneficial to the mind?
Writing out feelings for a person becomes a sort of therapy. It can be a way to get what you are feeling, but in a journal. This becomes beneficial for people to reflect upon their feelings. In fact, seeing the different sort of emotions you have felt previously can even become fascinating to look back on.
Creating a diary is a fun way to log big or small memories. A diary can be used everyday, weekly, monthly, etc. to just be able to capture a high moment, or perhaps a low moment. These sorts of journals are uplifting to look back on.
Making a planner comes in handy to schedule dates and times. Planners are extremely useful and help people stay on track of important things. A famous quote reads: “Whoever fails to plan, plans to fail.”
Brain dumps have proven to be helpful for those who have trouble falling asleep at night. Brain dump journaling has no structure. It is a sort of journaling where a person writes down everything that is on their mind, from important things coming up the next day, thoughts, or just words. People often do this right before bed to eliminate stress or anxiety for the next day.
Give it a Try.
The first thing that may come to your mind as you read this: With what time can I journal? Journaling is not something that you have to dedicate a lot of time to, or even do everyday.
Choosing what to journal about is free. You can have a journal that is full of just words, random sentences, lists, brain dumps, and just silly doodles.
Having to journal everyday or for a certain amount of time is not necessary. It can be once a week, everyday, or every night before you go to bed.
Take a journal or notepad that’s hanging around the house, or purchase one from a local department store or grocery, and set a reminder on your phone or on your fridge to journal at whatever time you choose.
For those who have trouble falling asleep, try setting a journal or notepad on your nightstand or next to your bed. When you are lying wide awake, write down all the important things coming for the next day or just your thoughts. This may help alleviate stress or any nerves.
Start Now.
Just start right now. Rip out a piece of paper. Use that old journal that’s been half-used. Write even just a word down. Maybe you want to write how you feel. Maybe you want to write about a thought you just had. Or something funny.
You’ll never know if you don’t try. On your phone, put in a reminder to write something, if not a word, down once a week.
Writing can be stress-relieving and a sense of accomplishment. It can be something to enjoy. There are no rules and the journal is just for your eyes only (unless you wish to share it).
You are Awesome.
